OSU Institute of Technology offers the only Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (ACR) degree in Oklahoma. Students enrolled in the ACR program learn and develop their mechanical and electrical skills used to install, repair and maintain air conditioning units and associated components. Become an expert in refrigeration equipment such as electrical meters, refrigerant recovery units, manometers, air flow meters and temperature recorders.

With an ACR Technology degree, you won’t just fix air conditioners - unless you want to. You might work for a small company with one or two technicians or a Fortune 500 firm. They all want our graduates.

– Roger Shepherd, Former Asst. Division Chair

A vital component of the ACR program is the required internship all students must complete. Students apply their advanced skills and knowledge in a real-world setting and face challenges they will encounter in the workplace. Interning at small and large companies with diverse clients and settings allows students to experience the spectrum of the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Satisfactory performance in a paid internship and completion of degree requirements for the Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technologies - ACR meets the two year experience requirements for the Oklahoma State Unlimited Mechanical Journeymen's License. OSUIT's ACR program is the only approved program in the state with this work experience equivalency.

After earning an Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technologies - ACR, graduates can start their career in their hometown or across the globe working with service contractors, industrial plants, residential areas, hospitals, motels, telecommunications companies, or become self-employed.
