Nursing Program Overview

There is no better place to learn to be a registered nurse than by attending OSU Institute of Technology and earning an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Registered Nursing.

The OSUIT Registered Nursing Program is approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), formerly National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).

Our nursing labs feature advanced simulation mannequins— enabling practice for a wide range of nursing procedures. Upon successful completion of the degree program and NCLEX, you will be eligible for employment as a registered nurse helping people in a lifelong career that provides both personal satisfaction and a great income.

OSUIT's Associate in Applied Science Degree in Nursing provides: hands-on learning environments, experienced faculty, and numerous employment opportunities with excellent salary potential.

Nature of Work

Nurses work to bring wholeness and balance to people, families and communities. Nurses focus on prevention of illness, and maintenance and promotion of health. As a registered nurse (RN), you are accountable to think critically, collaborate with and advocate for patients, and participate in the improvement of health care systems.

Nurses are caring and sympathetic. They accept responsibility, supervise others, implement prescriptions, and determine when consultation is required.

This program requires extensive use of technology, including required course texts delivered as e-texts, paperless clinical documentation and regular interface with the online classroom. For this reason, students accepted to the program must have internet access at home and must supply their own tablet.  Tablet must be smaller than 8 x 11.
