Q&A - November 17, 2017

I know you’ve been talking about it for months. I’ve seen you driving your cars by slowly and admiring it through the windows. Very soon, you will have your chance to come inside and see it for yourself. I hope you are all making plans to attend the Grand Old Post Office - Grand Opening (GOPO – GO) in downtown Okmulgee. This public event is scheduled on Tuesday, November 28 (between 11:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.). During these hours, guests may go on self-guided tours throughout the entire facility.

Q&A - November 10, 2017

Q: When can I take a tour of the Grand Old Post Office?

Q&A - November 3, 2017

OSUIT was born out of necessity over 70 years ago. When U.S. soldiers were returning home from World War II, a grateful nation welcomed them back with affection and fanfare. (Such a reception, sadly, has not always been afforded to soldiers in later generations.) In 1946, the president of Oklahoma A&M College (now OSU), Dr. Henry G. Bennett, was compelled to create a training facility in the State of Oklahoma to assist returning veterans with one of their most urgent needs.
