The 18 students graduating this semester with an Associate in Applied Science in Registered Nursing will celebrate their accomplishment at a pinning ceremony on Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m., in Covelle Hall.

Pinning ceremony can be bittersweet for Nursing program graduates

After two years of attending OSU Institute of Technology’s Nursing program, the upcoming graduates are feeling relieved and reflective that it’s coming to an end. The 22 nursing students that graduate Dec. 11 will also take part in a pinning ceremony, a nursing school tradition that dates back to the 19th century.

Jodi Campbell, who has been a nursing instructor at OSUIT for the last four years, was recently chosen as the recipient of the new First National/Citizens Security Bank Endowed Professorship.

Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Division Chair Jana Martin has spent a good portion of her life serving others and making OSUIT’s nursing program one of the most respected in the state. Because of her leadership and dedication, she was recently appointed by Governor Mary Fallin as one of only 11 members of the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
