Shari Erwin

Biography:
Shari Erwin (@sharierwin) is a marketing technologist, content strategist and general web geek. Prior to joining OSU Institute of Technology, she worked for the University of Tulsa College of Law and was the web communications coordinator for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, supporting student recruitment efforts and image advertising campaigns through storytelling and online community engagement. Erwin spent more than a decade working in television and was first in the market in developing a multi-platform news sharing strategy for KLRT/KASN in Little Rock. She holds a master’s degree in Technical and Professional Writing from UALR where she continues to serve as an adjunct instructor.


Eric Covey

Assistant Director

Biography:
Born and primarily raised in Tulsa, Eric has achieved multiple higher education degrees. He received an associate degree in Journalism from Tulsa Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with emphasis on Public Relations from Northeastern State University.

Eric’s passion for public relations lies in higher education and the pursuit of civic loyalty and community engagement. In Eric’s five years as a professional he has assisted in PR campaigns with organizations such as Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology; Military Order of the Purple Heart; State Farm Insurance; Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce; Broken Arrow Area Chamber of Commerce; Broken Arrow Arts & Humanities Council; and the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center.

Sara Plummer

Biography:
Sara was born in Stillwater and grew up in Sapulpa before returning to Oklahoma State University to get a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Broadcasting in 2003. She worked as a staff writer at the Tulsa World for eight years covering community news, education, the Tulsa Zoo, the Tulsa City-County Library, the occasional crime or fire and everything in between. Sara had also worked as a staff writer at the Sapulpa Herald and Wichita Eagle before coming to the Tulsa World. She joined OSUIT in September 2013 as the publications coordinator writing copy and news stories for the OSUIT website, promotional and institutional advancement materials and The Circuit, the weekly e-newsletter. Basically, she handle anything involving words.

Favorite Spot on Campus:
I like walking by the fountain and shaded courtyard area next to the State Room.

Why I love OSUIT:
Before I came to work here, I had no idea how invaluable OSUIT’s mission is. I now see how hard our faculty, staff and administrators work to ensure students are ready to work. And I love getting to show off my orange wardrobe.


Tate Delana

Biography:
Tate was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and grew up in the Okmulgee area. He graduated from Tulsa Community College with an associate degree in Digital Media with an emphasis in Graphic Design. He started his career as a graphic designer with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation in 2011, where he worked  for six years. He also serves on his church staff as the graphic designer. Tate joined OSUIT as the graphic designer in September 2017.


Briana Johnson

Role:
Web Content Strategist

Biography:
Briana was born in Edmond, Oklahoma, and lived in Lufkin, Texas, before returning to Oklahoma for her bachelor’s degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Professional Writing in 2009. Before coming to OSUIT, she worked as a content manager for Secure Thoughts, an affiliate marketing cybersecurity website. Before that, she worked as a marketing communications specialist for Greenleaf Nursery in Tahlequah for three years, promoting a collection of plants through print and digital media, and a conceptual editor at Tate Publishing in Mustang for two years, shaping manuscripts into published books. Briana joined OSUIT in February 2017 as the web content strategist to oversee the website content management, website development and social media strategies.


Kyle Lomenick

Role:
Photographer/Videographer

Biography:
Kyle was born in Altus, Oklahoma, and moved to Perkins, Oklahoma, with his family in the second grade. After high school he went on to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Sports Media. He works for his dad as a sports photojournalist for the Perkins Journal in his spare time. In 2012 Kyle and his dad where able to cover President Obama’s arrival on his first Presidential trip to Oklahoma at Tinker Air Force Base. Kyle has been able to photograph many different things and events but enjoys going to Boone Pickens Stadium to photograph the Cowboys. Kyle joined OSUIT in January 2017 as the photographer/videographer.
