How long are housing contracts?

All housing contracts are legally binding for 2 semesters



How do I apply for a room in University Residence Halls?

How much are room deposits?

  • A $150.00 deposit is required for all new single students
  • A $500.00 deposit is required for all students in family housing


Who must live on campus?

All Students must live on campus unless:

  • If where you graduated high school is less than 50 drivable miles from the OSU Institute of Technology campus
  • Over the age of 21
  • Married and/or have children


Why live in the dorms?

  • No hook-up fees for utilities
  • No monthly utility bills
  • Free Internet access
  • Free local phone service
  • Free cable service
  • All repairs are made by Housing Maintenance
  • Closer to classes, activities, and fun
  • Students who live on campus have a higher GPA!


What if I have a family?

Married students who choose to live on campus must:

  • Provide copy of marriage certificate
  • Have no more than 2 children
  • Children must be under 12 years of age


What if I am a non-traditional student?

Single students who wish to be considered for Non-Traditional housing must:

  • Be at least 25 years of age or older
  • Receive background check
  • Interview with the Director of Residential Life


What if I am an out of state student?

All students receiving out of state tuition fee-waivers MUST live on campus


What room furnishings are available?

All rooms are furnished. Furniture within the room cannot be removed or traded. Regrettable there is no storage space available for students’ belongings that do not fit in the apartment.

What are somethings not allowed?

Alcohol, Drugs, Firearms, Fireworks, Candles, Flammable Liquids, Halogen Lamps, Black Lights, Tacks, Nails, Hot Plate, Grill, Crock Pot, Incense, or Pets


Do I need insurance?

The University does not insure students or their personal property. All students are therefore encouraged to carry their own life, health, personal property, and/or renter's insurance.


What kind of router is allowed?

We currently only allow the Cisco Linksys E-series or Linksys E-series router.


Do you allow for babysitting on campus?

The University does not allow students to babysit or have non-residents come on to campus to babysit.
